Foundation (Beginner-Friendly)

Our Foundation classes are perfect for newcomers or anyone wanting to rebuild technique. You’ll focus on breathing, alignment, core activation and safe set-up at a slower pace with plenty of instructor support. This level gives you the confidence and control to move well on both the mat and the reformer. Most clients stay in Foundation for 6–10 sessions if training two or more times per week, or up to 3–6 months if attending once a week or recovering from injury. Progress when you feel confident with terminology, equipment setup, and form.

Progressive (Improver)

Progressive classes build on your Foundation skills with more variety and a moderate pace. You’ll explore new exercises on both the mat and the reformer, develop strength and coordination, and start to flow between movements. Most clients spend 8–12 sessions at this level (or ~6–10 weeks at 1–2× per week) before moving on to Dynamic. Progress when you feel consistent control and comfort with the basic repertoire.

Dynamic (Intermediate)

Dynamic classes are designed for confident movers seeking a stronger challenge. Expect faster transitions, more complex sequences and full-body conditioning on both mat and reformer to develop endurance, power and advanced control. We recommend at least 12 sessions at this level — often 3–6 months depending on frequency — before progressing to Advanced. You’re ready for Advanced once you can maintain technique under fatigue and know how to self-modify.

Advanced (Experienced Only)

Advanced classes are for experienced clients who enjoy an athletic pace and complex repertoire. Minimal breakdown of exercises allows for a seamless, high-intensity flow demanding precision, strength and concentration on both mat and reformer. This level has no set timeframe — many people continue here while revisiting Foundation or Progressive periodically to refresh technique.

Reformer Prenatal Pilates

Reformer Prenatal Pilates at Irene McNulty Pilates offers safe, therapeutic movement designed specifically for pregnancy. Using the Reformer’s adjustable springs and supportive design, we focus on posture, core stability and gentle strengthening to help you stay comfortable and confident throughout your pregnancy.

Every class is led by an experienced Pilates instructor and includes personalised modifications for your trimester and comfort level. Small class sizes ensure you’ll get hands-on guidance and a calm, supportive environment. We also offer one-to-one prenatal Reformer sessions for those who prefer a completely tailored approach. (Suitable from 12 weeks onwards or as advised by your healthcare provider.)
